IHG® Fiji Hotels Product Update Announcements at Fiji Tourism Expo

Poolside ordering now available at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa

09th May 2023 (Natadola, Fiji): IHG Hotels & Resorts in Fiji made some major product announcements at the three-day Fiji Tourism Expo (FTE) in Denarau this week. IHG’s three properties in Fiji are InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel and Holiday Inn Suva.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa has launched a poolside ordering service at the property’s family pool and adults-only pool, which allows for a seamless and efficient poolside ordering experience. Each poolside seat location is assigned a unique QR code that once scanned, opens a mobile ordering platform where guests can order their food and beverage selections right from their smartphone or tablet. The order gets billed to the guest room and goes straight to the Restaurant & Bar, allowing for faster service at all our poolside seating locations. The goal is to provide guests with innovative and efficient experiences that deliver the world-class hospitality that IHG is known for.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa has also replaced the mattress in all guest rooms, which now feature a custom mattress manufactured locally in Fiji that is engineered for a superior sleep experience during your stay.

All three IHG Fiji hotels have replaced their LCD TVs with brand-new Samsung Smart TVs, allowing guests to mirror options and view content on a big screen. Each room across the three hotels also features a sleek Samsung Soundbar and an Alarm Clock with a wireless phone charger, which will improve the entertainment experience in all guest rooms.

IHG Fiji Hotels was also delighted to showcase the first-ever “Waste-Free Booth” at the Fiji Tourism Expo (FTE) 2023. The brand's commitment to sustainability and its "Journey to Tomorrow" program served as the driving force behind this innovative initiative.

Unlike other booths at the event, the IHG Fiji Waste-Free Booth had no banners, flyers, business cards, lollies, giveaways or merchandise available. Instead, IHG Fiji offered attendees an opportunity to win IHG One Rewards Points and become a part of IHG’s award-winning loyalty program. Almost 100,000 IHG One Rewards points were distributed to the attendees over the 2-day event.

Furthermore, the IHG Fiji’s booth served water from Aquam Insula, a Fijian-made water that is bottled at a carbon-neutral bottling plant and delivered in crates made from local hardwood timber for sustainable reuse. To ensure that all Fiji Water bottles consumed at the event were recycled, a Mission Pacific Recycling Bin was also placed at the booth.

IHG Fiji was delighted to showcase the new concept of booth design that supports sustainable tourism for the future and demonstrates IHG Fiji's commitment to promoting environmentally responsible practices.

Speaking at a media event at FTE, Lachlan Walker also reemphasized the brands' commitment to sustainability and to Journey to Tomorrow. Some programs talked about included:
