FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels Raise Over FJ$20,000 in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

Wednesday, 12th November 2025 (Natadola, Fiji): Throughout October 2025, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva and Holiday Inn Suva joined forces to mark Pinktober, raising awareness and funds in support of breast cancer advocacy and patient care.

This year’s activations, held in partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society, brought together colleagues, guests, and local communities through fundraising events including five ‘Cup of Kindness’ coffee sales, a 5 KM Pink Walk around Albert Park, Suva, donations from food & beverage sales and a percentage of sales from spa treatments.  

Collectively, the portfolio raised over FJ$20,000, which will be donated to the Fiji Cancer Society to support early detection programmes, patient assistance, and community education.

A highlight of the campaign was the landmark lighting of the Grand Pacific Hotel in pink, continuing a tradition that has become a defining feature of Suva’s Pinktober celebrations in recent years. The lighting of the hotel’s historic façade serves as a powerful visual reminder of solidarity, hope, and the importance of awareness.

The Grand Pacific Hotel has proudly illuminated its façade in pink for several years now, standing as a beacon of support for the fight against breast cancer. Across our hotels, we are incredibly proud of our colleagues whose enthusiasm and compassion have turned awareness into meaningful action,” commented Lachlan Walker, Regional General Manager, Fiji and Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts. 

Beyond fundraising, the hotels championed health and well-being within their own teams through on-site medical checks, not only for women but also for men. Inclusive medical insurance coverage across the portfolio ensures that female colleagues have access to essential screenings and care.

The funds raised this year will contribute to the Fiji Cancer Society’s ongoing work in patient support, education, and community outreach across Fiji.
